July 7th, 2009 by Janna received No Comments »Bobby’s EP, Dirty Pond Songs, was a featured review in the Indie Music section of Blogcritics.org. Author Jon Sobel, an initial sceptic due to the Twilight hype, became a believer in Bobby’s talent after listening to the rough album in it’s entirety:
Hyped, yes. Fluff, not so much. With raw vocal power and smart, evocative lyrics, Long is a folksinger with a spirited intensity that puts him outside and above the masses of singer-songwriters roaming our cities, towns, and social networks.
Sobel offers a compelling and geniune review of Dirty Pond Songs as he breaks down fan favorites such as “Who Have You Been Loving” and “The Bounty of Mary Jane.” His appreciation for Bobby’s sound and lyrical talents are apparent with comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, and remind us of the many reasons why we love his music.
